Clear answers about faith-based coaching, sessions, confidentiality and what to expect.
It is certainly scary to reach out, admit that you are experiencing problems, and make yourself vulnerable in front of others. However, getting started is usually the most difficult part of the process.
By the end of the initial session, people are often comfortable and glad that they attended. If you are contemplating getting professional help, I recommend approaching it as a trial. Attend one or two sessions and then decide whether you are interested in continuing.
The most important part of a session is having the opportunity to share your thoughts, concerns, and fears with an objective, trained professional who will listen attentively.
Your coach will help you establish a program to overcome your difficulties or achieve your goals. The exchange of ideas, feeling supported, and having accountability to make necessary changes are at the heart of the sessions.
The length of the process depends on the nature and complexity of the problem. We offer solution-focused, short-term coaching, which means we learn about your goals and work with you to achieve them as quickly as possible.
The number of sessions varies according to your goals, circumstances, consistency, and the complexity of what you are working through. Your coach can discuss a recommended plan after learning more about your needs.
Some individuals have more complicated circumstances that may require additional time. It is important to remember that these sessions are not a quick fix. Achieving meaningful results takes time and effort, especially when problems are deeply rooted. Your coach will recommend the appropriate length of the process following the assessment.
The length and effectiveness of the coaching process depend on:
During the first session, we complete an assessment and establish a baseline for the different areas of your life. You will be asked to rate these areas so we can clearly understand where you are starting.
After several sessions of learning and applying new techniques, we can revisit these areas to review what has changed, what still feels difficult, and what may need a different approach. Progress looks different for each person.
Relatively early in the process, you may begin to recognize self-defeating patterns or habits in the way you think, feel, and behave, even if you are not immediately able to change them.
After observing these habits and discussing their causes and effects, you will become better equipped to make changes and release old patterns. As this self-awareness deepens, you may begin to feel more natural, spontaneous, and at ease in different areas of your life. Genuine emotions may come more freely, relationships may deepen, and old patterns of worrying and obsessing may become less disruptive.
Coaching may be a good fit when you want structured support for relationship patterns, parenting, personal growth, emotional skills, decision-making, or accountability.
Coaching is not a substitute for licensed mental health diagnosis or treatment. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, severe psychiatric symptoms, an eating disorder, addiction, or an immediate safety concern, please seek an appropriately licensed mental health professional or emergency support in your location.
We do not provide licensed mental health or psychological services.
Sister Haleh and our Banani Method coaches offer pastoral, Muslim faith-based family, marriage, and life coaching. These services do not require licensure and comply with Section 882.24 of the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council Code.
Regarding Sister Haleh's qualifications, she has worked exclusively with the Muslim community since receiving her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in 1998. She passed her licensing examinations and completed the required training. She has also earned certificates in theology and received endorsements for pastoral and faith-based practice from prominent religious leaders.
Soon after graduating, she moved abroad with her family and worked as a faith-based marriage and behavior counselor under the laws of the countries in which she lived.
After returning to the United States, she chose to work legally in Texas as a faith-based life and marriage coach. She does not provide services that require licensure. This allows her to freely integrate faith into her sessions and help people worldwide, rather than limiting her services to clients in Texas.

The Banani Method is our proprietary approach to improving people's lives and relationships. Sister Haleh developed this method based on more than three decades of experience helping people live their best lives, restore their families, and save their relationships.
Allahumma barik, she has also demonstrated the Banani Method's principles in her own life through a happy marriage of more than 25 years, overcoming some of life's most demanding challenges, and raising three well-adjusted, loving, and successful adult children who are proud of their Islamic identity.
The Banani Method combines effective, contemporary psychological approaches with guidance and understanding from the Quran and Sunnah.
We provide short-term, CBT-based coaching. We help clients change their thoughts, create healthier behaviors, and achieve their goals.
Our solution-focused approach means that we learn about your goals and work with you to achieve them as quickly as possible.
We also use psychodynamic methods to help clients understand the impact of childhood and life experiences.
For many clients, a combination of these approaches works best. For example, a person experiencing relationship difficulties may need to explore their personal history to understand how current patterns developed. They can then use this understanding to select the best interventions for changing the patterns causing them distress.
Our coaching differs for every person according to their needs, personality, and circumstances. It is never a one-size-fits-all approach.
Through deep contemplation, reflection, thought, and dua, we design an effective and empowering plan for each client.
The most important feature of our approach is that it is directive. We do much more than listen. We provide customized solutions, faith-based guidance, and tailored psychological education.
Our experience across many client situations provides us with a wide range of tools that can be applied to your individual needs. We meet with you consistently, help you implement the techniques, and hold you accountable for progressing toward your goals.
We do not provide licensed psychological or mental health services.
It is common for people to worry about what others will think when they consider seeking professional help. First, no one needs to know. It is a private matter, and there is no need to announce it.
It is also important to prioritize your emotional well-being rather than allowing fear of other people's opinions to prevent you from receiving support.
If you had a medical condition, you would not hesitate to visit a doctor or simply hope that the illness would disappear. Emotional distress and psychological difficulties also need to be addressed. When they are ignored, they may worsen and can sometimes contribute to physical symptoms.
Confidentiality is one of the essential features of the sessions. What you share with your coach is held in the strictest confidence. This is intended to help you feel safe sharing your deepest thoughts, fears, and feelings.
Even the nature of the coaching relationship is considered confidential. If you encounter your coach outside of the sessions, you will not be introduced as a client without your express permission.
Your written permission is required before personal information can be shared with another person.
However, if you threaten to harm yourself or another person, your coach may be ethically required to contact the appropriate authorities.
The sessions are faith-based and grounded in the Quran and Sunnah. We explore your spiritual development in relation to the concerns you are experiencing.
When desired, we encourage spiritual growth as a means of developing psychological balance. We find that people who build a strong connection with their Creator have greater resources for navigating life's ups and downs with grace and gratitude.
Faith-based discussions may include:
As practicing Muslim professionals, we evaluate every psychological tool, method, and technique through authentic Islamic principles. You can feel reassured that our coaching will not contradict the core tenets of our faith and will remain aligned with the Quran and Sunnah.
We also work with non-Muslim clients and never impose our beliefs or opinions upon them. We have the utmost respect for diversity.
Some clients prefer a faith-based Muslim coach because they want Islamic values, family context, and spiritual goals to be understood and integrated into the work without having to explain them from the beginning.
The right fit depends on your needs. For concerns that require clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment, seek an appropriately licensed mental health professional with relevant expertise. Cultural and religious competence can be important regardless of the professional's background.
Receive practical reflections on relationships, emotional well-being and personal growth.
Note: All private sessions are considered ‘coaching’, not therapy.
We DO NOT PROVIDE LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH OR PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES on this site.
Sister Haleh and our Banani Method coaches offer pastoral (Muslim faith-based) family, marriage, and life coaching.
None of these require licensure and fully comply with Section 882.24 of the Texas Behavior Health Executive Counsel Code.
